I was trying to modify a 135 mm lens (a long story in itself) and could not remove the last of 3 micro screws and tore up the head and hit the metaphorical brick wall. Thanks to Google I discovered Specialty Photographic Repair Services in Pelham.
Jay was great. I had two old film cameras that haven’t seen maintenance … potentially ever? Jay was swift but effective in evaluating the shape of my cameras and lenses. He was able to identify exactly what was wrong (without me going into more detail) and quoted me a more than reasonable price for his services.
I had a great experience with this photography repair guy. He was super nice, really easy to talk to, and clearly knows his stuff when it comes to cameras. What I appreciated most is that he was honest, he didn’t try to sugarcoat anything or give me false hope.
Jay was very generous with his time and knowledge when I brought him my first film camera purchased online (refurbished) as I wasn’t sure if it was in working condition.
