Some of the staff is good, some of the staff is not. There is a decently high turn over rate of employees. The printing service is solid, so is film development. Used prices on equipment are high. They do have some decent sales sometimes. I wouldn't recommend this shop to a new or novice photographer.
My experience with them is limited to using their film developing service plus buying a few rolls of film. But I'm very happy with what I've done. They have done a great job with my film. The staff have been polite and don't make me feel bad for being a blundering amateur just getting into film photography.
I recently had an outstanding experience at The Camera Shop in Lansing, and I can't recommend it highly enough! Chad, the salesperson I worked with, was incredibly informative and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain all my options and educated me throughout the entire purchasing process.
Lansing is so lucky to have this gem of a camera shop. I’m an amateur film photographer and have been using this shop to develop my rolls for the last 5+ years. They recently updated and renovated the shop and put emphasis on faster film development/delivery.
