A great place for photographers. Take a class, use a studio with strobes. Print a huge print. Use a darkroom. Make a platinum print. Learn the latest software.
I was passing through town and stopped by to take a look at their exhibit and library. It was probably the highlight of my weekend. The front desk was very welcoming, too. What a great asset to photographers in Seattle. I wish we had something like this still in Portland.
They put on Chase the Light, so an automatic 5 stars. The summer weekend shoot is open to all (small entry fee) and they choose one photo per entry to feature in an online slide show and at a 1-night open house at the center. There’s more to it, but suffice to say it’s great to see all the other entries.
I can't say enough about this wonderful institution. PCNW is the heart of the photographic community in Seattle.
