With an expert staff and friendly atmosphere, Franklin FOTO is both a great darkroom space and an welcoming place to meet other photographers. This is a fantastic addition to Portland's photo community!
I am so excited to have a community darkroom in Portland again. It is open five days a week with tons of open hours for anyone in the community to drop by. I’m a member, but you can also just stop by when you have time and pay the hourly darkroom rate.
Franklin Foto is a great place to develop your black and white film and print your photos in the darkroom. The staff is super helpful and friendly and answered my questions (it was years since I last worked in the darkroom). Never done it before? They have classes and experienced instructors.
It’s been 25 years since I last printed in a darkroom. Stepping into the dark was a pleasant surprise. The enlargers are well equipped, and the sinks are roomy. The hourly rate and membership for usage is great for the occasional user, but also excellent for those that print a lot.
