Abandoned Cameras (formerly Chuck Rubin’s) has become my number 1 spot for vintage camera gear in Louisville. I’ve been shopping here for years now as far back as when it was originally located on Bardstown rd. Alex has taken it to a whole new level.
Finally, I got a Leica after all these years. Chuck told me over the phone the he had a 1954 Leica iiif in excellent condition, so I went over yesterday to check it out. It was just as he said; very clean and worked well from a few test. He gave me a good price and I took it home to check it out more throughly.
I’ve been to Chuck Rubins multiple times. Chuck isn’t only really helpful, but his prices are extremely fair. Chuck is willing to go out of his way to help you with an issue, track down a piece of gear or just general camera knowledge.
Just visited for the first time and really enjoyed talking with Chuck. There's plenty of old cameras--it's like a museum in there!!!
