Buying Nikon in Minnesota

That second question is the one people skip. A price hundreds under everyone else usually means gray market stock — genuine Nikon gear imported outside the manufacturer's official US distribution channel. It's real gear, but it carries no US warranty, and some manufacturers (Nikon most strictly) will not service it in the United States at any price.
